Andrea Spiker, MD

Dr. Andrea M. Spiker is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and subspecialty certified sports medicine specialist at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where she serves as the Dr. William G. Clancy Jr. Professor in Sports Medicine, Director of the UW Hip Preservation Program, and Program Director of the Orthopedic Sports Medicine Fellowship. Dual fellowship-trained in orthopedic sports medicine and hip preservation, she specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of athletic injuries, with expertise in hip arthroscopy, hip preservation including periacetabular osteotomy, and complex knee and hip procedures. Dr. Spiker is a team physician for UW Badger Athletics and has served as head orthopedic physician for the Badger Men’s Basketball Team. A nationally recognized educator, researcher, and speaker, she has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and textbook chapters focused on sports medicine and hip preservation. She earned her medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine, completed her orthopedic surgery residency at Johns Hopkins University, and pursued both sports and hip preservation fellowship training at Hospital for Special Surgery in New York.
