Dr. Sasha Carsen is an Ottawa-based pediatric orthopedic surgeon, clinician-scientist, and Associate Professor of Surgery at the University of Ottawa. He specializes in pediatric and adolescent sports medicine, hip and knee preservation, arthroscopy, fracture care, and orthopedic trauma. After earning his MD, CM and MBA from McGill University, he completed orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Ottawa, followed by fellowship training in Pediatric Orthopaedic Sports Medicine at Boston Children’s Hospital/Harvard University and Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery at BC Children’s Hospital. Based at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO), Dr. Carsen serves as Director of Research for the Division of Orthopedics and leads an active research program focused on ACL injuries, hip preservation, pediatric sports injuries, and orthopedic trauma, with the goal of advancing evidence-based care for young patients.
