George Grammatopoulos, MD

Dr. George Grammatopoulos is an Ottawa-based orthopedic surgeon, clinician-scientist, and Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of Ottawa. He serves as Director of Research and Innovation for the Division of Orthopaedic Surgery at The Ottawa Hospital, where he specializes in hip preservation surgery, primary and revision hip and knee arthroplasty, and the management of complex hip disorders in young adults. After earning his medical degree with honors from the University of London, he completed orthopedic residency training and a Doctor of Philosophy (DPhil) in Musculoskeletal Sciences at the University of Oxford, followed by advanced fellowship training in adult hip reconstruction and hip preservation. Internationally recognized for his work on hip biomechanics, personalized surgical planning, and joint reconstruction, Dr. Grammatopoulos has received numerous national and international awards for his research and has authored extensively on improving outcomes for patients undergoing hip preservation and joint replacement surgery.
